Project Vision for the Tesoma train stop area
Client City of Tampere
Location Tampere, Finland
Size 60 Hectares
Year 2022
Status Completed
The Vision for the Tesoma train stop area outlines the main urban strategies for a 60-hectare area connected to Tampere. The vision will be used in general planning, project development, and local detailed planning processes.

The train stop becomes a hub that offers users multiple sustainable modes of transportation. The public spaces are activated by a flexible strategy for activities on the ground floor of buildings. Preserving existing buildings and a new youth center contribute to the cultural and social identity of the neighborhood. Green roofs, permeable surfaces, rain gardens in public spaces, and retention ponds support stormwater management and increase well-being.
